 | Understand: Team RPG Selection Process When churches or refugee supporting organizations apply and are approved, their name, a brief description and a running tally of the number of supporting teams is posted online. Team captains can view this list of approved organizations under Grants, and select the organizations they would like to select when they sign up.
NEW FOR 2009: To be able to select one organization to support, teams must now raise a minimum of $1000 and have three team members registered. To select two organizations they will need to raise over $5000.
When making their selections, teams can make one primary selection from the list of approved Ride Partner Grant Organizations that will automatically receive 50% of any amount they raise once the threshold of $1000 is reached. If a team reaches the $5000 threshold, 50% of what they raise can be applied to two selected organizations, allocated by percentage as they wish. If a team selects two organizations but falls short of the minimum threshold of $5000 required for two selections, the primary selection will receive half of the amount raised and the secondary selection will receive nothing. See examples below.
Examples: Team selects one organization and raises $1500. That organization will receive $750. Team selects two organizations. They decide Organization #1 should receive 70% and Organization #2 should receive 30%. The team raises $6000. Organization #1 will receive $2100 and Organiation #2 will receive $900. Team selects one organization and raises $800. No proceeds will be allocated to that selection because they have failed to reach the minimum threshold. Team selects two organizations and raises $4000. Organization #1 will receive $2000, and Organization #2 because the team has failed to reach the minimum two-org threshold.
If a team captain doesn't see the organization they want to select listed: a) the organization hasn't applied, b) their application is pending, or c) they haven't been approved for the RIDE Partner Grant.
Please note, teams are not required to make any selection. All net proceeds to the Ride for Refugees after expenses are invested by International Teams Australia, Canada and USA into their expanding refugee ministries.
